After continuous use of an oven, it needs some cleaning and needs to get grimy enough to be used again. The different smell of roasting and different experiments of baking makes it smelly as well as looks ugly to the eyes. The smell that often comes from the oven is created when the grease built up in the oven, and the scattered food in the oven turns it into carbon. This process causes the production of smell when something gets in the oven for cooking purpose. This coating of carbon in the oven causes some problems like tainting of food and it becomes hazardous as this increased rate of carbon may cause a great problem for the health and it may even catch fire. There are certain instructions that can be used for cleaning of the oven.
The first thing that you should do is to determine that what type of oven do you have. There is a different type of ovens, and the cleaning processes of all these ovens are different from each other. Every oven requires different cleaning methods.
There are some ovens that feature the process of self-cleaning. This allows the ovens to heat at a high temperature in which the grease, as well as the food, turns into ashes.
There is the second type of oven that has texture in it which keeps it clean continuously. The reason is that it contains porcelain layer that is designed specifically to burn the spilled food that spreads when you are baking something.
While there are certain ovens that do not comprise of these features, so that needs to be cleaned on a regular basis by hand. Now get ready to clean the oven. Properly get a spare time to clean your oven as this will take a lot of time. You might get tired even sometimes if it is getting cleaned for the first time.
Keep in mind to keep your pets and children away from the kitchen at that time so that your family do not inhale those fumes. And even you should wear some mask too since the burning of those spilled food will produce burning smell and fumes as well.
Keep your doors off the kitchen and windows open so that ventilation remains in the kitchen.
Remove the oven rack and place it in a sink under a lukewarm water and put some dish wash liquid or gel on to it.
Now turn on the oven to self-cleaning mode if it is present or else turn on the Oven and lock the door and keep the temperature to 800 to 900 degrees.
The oven will turn the grease and spilled food into ashes within two to six hours.
Now let the oven cool for at least two hours instead of cleaning it at the same time. You might get hurt at that instant time.
Now clean those ashes with some brush or dust pan.
Clean the door of the oven and rub the glass of the oven so that the oven gives an overall clean and good look.
